Katherine Jean Westrate Fisher age 64, passed away September 7, 2021. Everyone called her Kathy. Kathy was the daughter of Jack Westrate and Marianne McBeth. She is survived by her parents, her children, Kelli (Sean) Cassis and Jason Wohlert; grandchildren, Rylee Anne and Parker Cassis; Siblings Kevin Westrate, Marjorie (Steve) Fuller, and Jacqueline (Michael) Sander; several nieces and nephews: and her partner for 15 years Scott Lace. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Scott Wohlert, and grandmother, Marjorie Westrate who she loved dearly.

She graduated from Holland High School and attended Michigan State University and Hope College in Holland. She attended Hope Church and participated in the youth group there. At Holland High School she was involved in Dutch Dance and Horizon Club.

After high school she worked as a teller for First National Bank in down town Holland. Kathy lived and worked in Saugatuck, Michigan for many years while raising her children.

Kathy loved to tell jokes so she could get everyone laughing! She laughed a lot! She was a giver of her time, and talents and would as someone once said,"... give the shirt off her back, if someone needed it". She encouraged others to succeed and was extremely generous. When she was a teen she played the guitar and sang beautiful songs by Peter, Paul and Mary and the Carpenters. She found peace in caring for flowers, watching birds, crafting, and especially baking foods people loved.

A small gathering of family and close friends will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 659 State Street in Holland, on Wednesday, September 22nd at 6:00 P.M.
