Justin W. (“Jud”) Heetderks, 86, of Holland died on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at home.

He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Henrietta Heetderks, sister Cynthia J. Heetderks, and brother-in-law Henry Young.

Jud is survived by his wife of 57 years Joann; children, Lt. Col. Jane Heetderks-Cox USAF (Ret.) of Austin, TX, James (Lynne) Heetderks of Earlysville, VA, and Thomas of Holland; and grandchildren Ben and Claire Cox and Anna, David, John, Daniel, and Mary Heetderks; sister Betty (Wesley) Drost of Holland; sisters-in-law, Clasina Young of Grandville and Sandra (Henry) Young of Batavia, IL.

Jud was a graduate of Holland High School and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA). He retired after 33 years from the Holland BPW’s water treatment plant; prior to that he served as an officer with the Holland Police Department. Jud was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserve and Michigan Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post #6. He was an avid gardener and extremely knowledgeable about plants and shrubs.

Funeral services will be 11 am, Wednesday (July 14), at Covenant Presbyterian Church 1015 East 32nd Street, with Rev. Ken Klett officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Tuesday (July 13), at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Holland.
