Julia VanderVeen

Julia Caauwe VanderVeen, age 93, of Holland, passed away, Thursday, July 31, 2014.

Julia was born in East Saugatuck, MI to Herman and Johanna (Glupker) Fredricks.

She was employed by Parke Davis for many years, until her retirement.

Julia was a member of Pillar Church and was a former member of Maplewood Reformed Church.

Julia was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Caauwe in 1988 and John Harvey VanderVeen in 2006.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Alan) Watson, Phyllis (Bruce) Jacobs, Janice (Roger) Swaninger, Roger Caauwe, Donna (Dennis) Baas, Barbara (Dennis) Reilly, Joan (Jim) Borst, and Ken (Lynn) VanderVeen; grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Watson, Kelly (Benjamin) Ayers, Kimberly (Clay) Crenshaw, Timothy (Jennifer) Jacobs, Katie (David) Maxon, Thomas (Jill) Swaninger, Joshua (Kendra) Swaninger, Kelly (Victor) Oliver, Erin (Phillip) Pace, Sean (Megan) Reilly, Annie Reilly, Abby Borst, Ben Borst, Scott (Marsha) VanderVeen, and Brian (Laura) VanderVeen; 28 great grandchildren; sister, Grace Fredricks; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Ernie) Bekken and Jerene Caauwe; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 am Monday at Pillar Church, 57 East 10th Street, with the Rev’s. Chris De Vos and Annie Reilly officiating.

Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens

Visitation will be 3-5 pm Sunday at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Ave.
