Judith A. Fabiano, age 79, of Holland, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Judy Corwin was born June 7th, 1945, to James and Sarah Corwin in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She moved with her family to Holland in 1958 and attended West Ottawa High School where she met the love of her life, A. Patsy Fabiano II.

After graduating from West Ottawa, she attended Bronson School of Nursing where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse.

On August 13th, 1966, she and Patsy were married and lived in various locations while he was in the service. After leaving the military, they moved to Grand Rapids where they settled in and started their family.

Judy has always made it a priority to care for other people. While living in Grand Rapids she helped establish the Community Child Watch program and partnered with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s department upon moving to Holland in 1981 to do the same.

Judy continued to serve others as she devoted 8 years to the West Ottawa school board while at the same time serving on the Ottawa Area Intermediate school board. She was also an active volunteer in her daughters’ classrooms and attended all their school functions and activities.

Caring for others and children was her passion.

Judy returned to nursing after her daughters went to college and became the Director of Nursing at a local long term nursing facility. She was proud of the fact that she led the organization to three consecutive perfect state surveys.

In retirement, she and Patsy enjoyed traveling together, visiting Greece, Italy, Romania, and Turkey and took cruises to Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii. Judy also enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, and doting on their beloved grandchildren. They never missed a soccer game or swim meet, no matter how far they had to travel to cheer for them.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Patsy Fabiano; her children, Laurel and Joseph Soto of West Olive and Jill and Butch Mockler of Zionsville; grandchildren, Khadin and Braylon Soto and Cordelia Mockler; sister, Denise and Gary Lucas of Holland, and James and Susan Corwin of Kansas.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 20, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 21, at 11:00am, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Avenue, Holland. Father Michael Burt presiding. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the mass. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Professional service entrusted to the Northwood Chapel.
