Judy A. Brake, age 78, of Holland died peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Hospice of Holland after a courageous battle with cancer.

Judy was born on July 18, 1935 in Jackson, MI to Harold and Geraldine Webb. She was a graduate of Michigan Center High School and Jackson Junior College where she received her associated degree in general studies. In 1953 she was awarded the DAR Good Citizenship Award. She retired from Hope College after 35 years of service. Judy attended the First Congregational Church of Saugatuck for over 40 years. She loved to sing and was a long standing member of the church choir. Judy was preceded in death by her spouse of 45 years James David Brake in 2000 and her brother Leon Webb and both of her parents.

Judy is survived by her children: Connie and Dan Rusiecki of Holland, Don Brake of Holland, Karen and Blake Wolffis of Carmel, IN; grandchildren: Lisa Beth and Michelle DeBoer and Noble and Cassidy Wolffis; great grandchildren: Kimberly DeBoer, Kevin Boyd and Haley DeBoer; brother and sister: Doug Webb of Naples, FL and Linda Usleber of Jackson; brother-in-law: Tom Windeknecht of Hudsonville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at First Congregational Church 296 Hoffman Street in Saugatuck.

Reverend Rob Brink will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Mulder Chapel – Dykstra Funeral Homes 188 West 32nd Street in Holland.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Congregational Church or Hospice of Holland.
