Jose Salinas

Jose Filiberto Salinas, age 79, of Holland died Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home.

Jose was a member of Ebenezer Assembly of God. Jose and his wife Margarita founded Margaritas Restaurant in Holland. He was a jack of all trades and very handy with everything. Jose loved being with his family, especially his dear grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Margarita in March of this year, his father and mother Felix and Aurelia (Zamora) Salinas, his son Felix Salinas in 2009, his brothers, Gumecindo Salinas, Epimenio Salinas, sister, Maria Concepcion and a brother-in-law Isidro Garcia in 2021.

He is survived by his children: Esmeralda Salinas and Gilbert Valverde, Jose L. and Melissa Salinas, Francisco and Yolanda Salinas, and Alonzo and Rosario Salinas, all of Holland; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother: Mario Salinas; sister: Juanita Bocanegra; brother and sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Dykstra Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland, MI 49424. Reverend Aron Garcia will be officiating. Graveside services will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

A private family visitation will take place one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given Hospice of Holland or Ebenezer Assembly of God. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel.
