John E. Hellenthal, age 85 of Holland, peacefully passed away June 18, 2021.
John was a loyal and lifelong member of the Elks Club, Pioneer Club and was known to be a hard worker who was always the first to help others. He was a loving husband, father and will be deeply missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Donna; brother, Les Hellenthal; and step-son, Brad Birnbaum.
John is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 33 years; children, Ron (Diane) Hellenthal, Joann (Stuart) Jalving, David (Donna) Hellenthal, Steve Birnbaum, Kristine VanderWoude; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn (Ted) Gillman, Birdie Dykema, Leona Hollar, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 22nd from 4pm – 7pm at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel (295 Douglas Ave). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice of Holland.
