Jean M. Van Daalen

Jean Mary Van Daalen passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Tony and Maude Noordewier.

Jean was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Van Daalen; her daughter, Julie Van Daalen; and her son-in-law, Mark Janicki.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Dr. James (Myung Kim) Van Daalen; and her daughters, Jane Janicki and Jackie Van Daalen. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to five grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Westveer, Stephanie Cody, Mitchell Janicki, Courtney (Justin) Gelderloos and Rachel Van Daalen. Jean was further blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Aidan and Mackenzie Westveer; Jaxson, Mackinley, and Keelin Janicki; Teagan and Ryder Gelderloos.

Jean loved the Lord and her family dearly, and her faith guided every part of her life. She faithfully served her community by volunteering for several years at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and through her involvement with Kids Hope. She was an active and devoted member of Christ Memorial Church of Holland, where she served as an Elder and Deacon and shared her love of music as a member of the church choir.

A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 11:00am, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service.

Jean’s legacy of faith, service, and love will live on through all who knew her.
