Life Story / Obituary

Janis Rae (Ten Have) Reinink, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. Jan was born and raised in Holland and was married to Terry for 63 years. She and Terry raised their four sons and when the boys were older, Jan followed her dream by going back to school and getting her degree in Nursing. She was a wonderful, passionate nurse at Holland Hospital for 25 years. Jan was an avid reader, loved Hope College basketball and never missed attending any event for her kids, grandkids or great grandkids. She loved the many years she and Terry spent up north at Loon Lake. She also enjoyed her years as a Kid’s Hope mentor at Holland Heights Elementary School. Jan was active in Calvary Reformed Church as a Sunday school teacher and Christian Endeavor (CE) leader. She had a quiet, confident demeanor but also a keen, dry sense of humor. She was so loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Jan is survived by her husband Terry, sons Tim (Cindy) Reinink, Rod (Sally) Reinink, Jeff (Wendy) Reinink, daughter-in-law Christal Reinink, 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Also, her sister Loie (Jerry) Becksford and brother Bill Ten Have; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Elaine Boersma, Marilyn & Larry Sebring and Nancy & Roger Bleeker.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, father-in-law and son Tom Reinink.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday April 26, 2022 at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Calvary Reformed Church, 995 East 8th Street.
