Janice Carol Overway, beloved daughter, mother, wife, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022 after a short illness. She was surrounded by her family.

The youngest of three children, Janice was born on December 17, 1939 to Raymond & Ethel (DeJonge) Diepenhorst above the General Store in Vriesland, Michigan. Her Grandfather, John DeJonge, was the store owner and postmaster.

She was married to the love of her life Gerald “Juke” Overway from July 1958 until his death in 2013. Both were lifetime members of Rose Park Reformed Church. Janice was a very spiritual woman who conveyed God’s love to her children and grandchildren.

Janice worked part-time at Meijer Thrifty Acres in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. She and Juke loved spending winters in their Condominium on Anna Maria Island, Florida for many years.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by sons; Rick (Janice M.) Overway, Randall Overway, Rodney (Maribel) Overway, and son-in-law Robert Flieman. Grandchildren; Elizabeth (Roman) Likhnovskyy, Matthew Overway, Bethany (Matthew) Wish, Jonathan (Ariel) Flieman, Casey Overway, Mallory (John) Mayer, Collin Postma, and Parker Overway. She also has five Great-Grandchildren; Andrian, Wesley, Emmet, Evelyn, and Jack. In-Laws; Barbara Becksvoort, William & Carolyn Overway and Roger & Sharon Overway, and Janet Diepenhorst.

Mrs. Overway was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Diepenhorst; mother; Ethel Diepenhorst; brother, Delbert Diepenhorst; brother, Cliff Diepenhorst; daughter, Roxanne Flieman and her husband, Gerald (Juke) Overway.

There will be a Joint Celebration of life for Janice and her daughter Roxanne Flieman at Rose Park Reformed Church, 14241 Rose Park Dr., Holland, at 11:00am, on Saturday May 14, 2022. A luncheon will follow the service. A private graveside ceremony will be held with Reverend Mark Waterstone presiding. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Holland.
