James A Von Ins, age 90, of Holland, residing in Port Saint Lucie, Florida died Friday, July 14, 2023 in his home.

He was a past member of First United Methodist Church of Holland and was a veteran of the Air Force serving from 1951-1955 in Korean War Zone. Jim retired as Vice President of Finance, Treasurer/Asst Secretary from Herman Miller Inc. after 27 years of employment. He was a lifetime member of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from Holland High School, Davenport College (awarded Distinguished Alumni 1984), Ferris State University, a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity (National Honor Society) and a member of the golf team.

Jim was the son of David and Rose Von Ins and was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Clifford and Pearl Bayne and siblings, Louise (Von Ins) Love, Dale Von Ins and David Von Ins, brother- in-law Donald Bayne, sister-in-law Maxine (William) Greenwood, brother-in-law Richard Bayne and sister-in-law Joan (Jack) Wiggins

Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol; children, Sandi Von Ins of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, James (Carin) Von Ins Jr of Holland, Michigan, 1grandson, Davis Von Ins, sister Doris Bell, sister-in-law Marlene Von Ins, sister-in-law Jan Von Ins, sister-in-law Virginia Bayne, brother-in-law Gerald Bayne and nieces and nephews.

Jim enjoyed a lifetime passion of the sport of golf. He was a past member of The Holland Country Club (served on Board of Directors) and was a 12 time Senior Club Champion, Heritage Ridge Golf Club, Ibis Golf and Country Club and Hammock Creek Country Club.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 8 at 11:00am at Fellowship Reformed Church. A lunch with visitation will take place following the service at the church.
