Ivan G. Top

Ivan Gayle Top, 91 of Hamilton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 26, 2024.

He will always be the best Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, and brother anyone could have.

Ivan was married to his beautiful wife Connie for 66 years before her passing in 2022. He was a lifelong farmer and truly enjoyed planting, growing and cultivating, even into his retired years. Ivan was a member of the Hamilton Reformed Church. He was a very active resident of Appledorn South. He enjoyed meeting new people, cherished his new friendships and was very grateful for all of the wonderful staff.

He was preceded in death by his wife Connie, his parents Dennis and Stella Top, sister Evelyn TerHaar and his precious grandson Michael Poll.

Ivan’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by five children, Tami and Randy Poll, Jan and John DeWyze, Terry Top, Jill and David Koopman, Tracy and Lon Haverdink; 15 grandchildren, Matt (Lynnette); Mitch (Kristin), Kim (Jordan), Missy (Ian), Sara, Mark (Danzi), Tiffany (Ben), Tabitha (Tim), Jonathan, Rebecca (Hunter), Ben (Daria), Luke, Levi, Andrea (Nicholas), Amanda (Charles); 21 great-grandchildren, brother Merle Top, sister Gloria (Lloyd) Lohman; along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 1 at the Hamilton Reformed Church, 3552 Lincoln Road. Pastor Ron Lugten will be officiating. Burial will be in the Overisel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 29 at the Hamilton Reformed Church. A special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at Holland Hospital and Appledorn South. Memorial contributions may be made to Bibles for Mexico or Hamilton Reformed Church.
