Howard Wolters, age 88, of Holland, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022, peacefully in his home surrounded by family. Howard was born on April 8, 1934, in Holland, to Peter and Alyda Wolters. Howard was the third of four children. Howard and Anna Lee (Smith) were married on April 2, 1954, in Luctor CRC Church in Kansas, and they made their home in Holland. Over the years they were blessed with 5 children, 17 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. Howard worked at a variety of companies before starting a business partnership with Clayton Bakker, forming Bakker and Wolters Masonry. In later years they formed MHC Enterprise, and their business partnership lasted over 50 years. Prior to retirement, Howard worked with his sons at Wolters Electric.

Howard loved doing puzzles, camping, and helping his kids and grandkids with projects whenever he could. He served several years as township trustee and was active on township boards. Howard also served on church boards as a deacon and elder throughout the years. For many years, Howard and Ann enjoyed winters in Donna, Texas, and summer weekends in Silver Lake, Michigan. Howard had a strong faith and shared his knowledge and love for the Lord with everyone. Howard had a great sense of humor and had many “Howardisms”.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Eugene Smith; sister-in-law, Shirley Smith; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
