Helen Miller

Helen Claudia Fox Miller was born on March 24,1932 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was the oldest of 8 children born to Maynard and Claudia Fox. Helen was raised on a small family farm outside Fremont, Michigan during the height of The Great Depression. She graduated from Fremont High School and Parson’s School of Business at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Mom married our father Si Miller Jr. in 1955 and together they raised a family of four sons and one daughter. She had 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and she was loved and adored by each and every one of us. Helen and Si stayed steadfastly devoted and deeply in love from the day they met in 1950. He was a lucky man because she was smart, beautiful and a great cook. Helen was many things throughout her life including: tireless volunteer for many charities, expert typist, philanthropist, caregiver, listener, expert salad maker, hospice volunteer and a prolific card and letter writer. She loved: laughing, birds, reading, giving gifts, driving fast, the view out her kitchen window, her family, and more than anything else BABIES! She was fearless, fast afoot, always kind to strangers and a friend to those in need. We are proud of our Mom and the life she lived. We will admire and love her forever.
