Life Story / Obituary

Geronemo Rosales, who was the brother of Danny, Joe, Sally, and Rufugia and also a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 77, just shy of his 78th birthday. A man of quiet strength, Geronemo leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family.

Geronemo built a life grounded in hard work and integrity. He spent most of his career in logistics, where he was known for his reliability and no-nonsense approach. Born and raised in Iowa, Geronemo moved to Michigan to be closer to his growing family. The move to Holland brought him great joy and the desire to create a family of his own with his beloved wife and childhood sweetheart.

Geronemo was the devoted husband of Maria Silva, with whom he shared 44 happy years until her passing in 2006. Together, they raised three sons who continue to carry forward their father’s strength of character and love for family. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and had the privilege of witnessing the blessing of countless great-grandchildren, all of whom brought a warmth to his heart.

Outside of family and friends, Geronemo cherished life’s simple pleasures. He had a love for the outdoors and could often be found camping with a drink in hand and a fire at his feet. Never one to pass up a good moment, he also enjoyed sharing a shot with friends and family—always accompanied by a good story or a hearty laugh.

Geronemo Rosales will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and always made time for those he cared about. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he raised, and the memories he helped create.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 W 13th St., Holland, MI 49423, on Thursday, June 26th, at 11am, with an hour of visitation prior.
