Gerie Jake Blevins, of Fennville, Michigan celebrated New Year's Eve in Heaven, December 31, 2017.

Born in Arkansas, September 18 1949 to Othil & Pearlie Blevins, Jake was one of 14 children. Following honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he came to visit a sister in Saugatuck where he met his wife Patty (Glover). They were married on May 27, 1972 and had two daughters, Yolande (Mitch) Slicer and Jackie (Mike) Mosqueda, who blessed them with 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Jake graduated from Saugatuck High School and went on to become a journeyman Tool & Die Maker at Hart & Cooley where he worked until retirement. He was a member of the Fennville VFW Post #7911 and the American Legion of Holland.

Jake enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and Ford pickup trucks. He was a lot of fun and well known in the Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville area for cooking a mean pig roast. Jake always made time for family and friends and went home every year to visit family in Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, both daughters, 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 8 siblings. No service is planned. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Saugatuck Chapel.
