Gerard "Jerry" Vanderwall

Gerard “Jerry” Vanderwall, age 79, of Holland passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Spectrum Health – Butterworth.

Jerry worked in sales and marketing for Holland Hitch, retiring after 38 years of service. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Holland. Jerry had a passion for golf and enjoyed reading, traveling, bowling, card games and was a good storyteller and king of one-liners. Later in life he picked up on snow skiing.

He was preceded in death by a sister Maxine Vanderwall.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gwynne, and children: Robert (Teresa) Vanderwall of Phoenix, AR and Jeff (Kim) Vanderwall of Linden, MI; grandchildren: Avery and Mason; brothers and sisters: Marilyn (Donald) Oosting, Norma Westhuis, Walter (Phyllis) Vanderwall, William (Joanne) Vanderwall and Kenneth Vanderwall; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday, August 11, 2023, at First Reformed Church, 630 State Street in Holland. Reverend Darrell Koopmans will be officiating.

The visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Thursday, August 10, at Dykstra Funeral Homes – Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street in Holland.
