Gerald Gerrits

Gerald G. Gerrits, age 84, of Zeeland was welcomed into heaven on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012.

He was a lifetime member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church. He loved fishing, woodworking and spending time at the cottage on Big Star Lake. He was a self-employed plasterer for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife Geneva in 1989.

He is survived by his wife Leona and children: Ken and Reva Gerrits of Holland, Randy and Deb Gerrits of Zeeland, Terry and Karen De Roo of Holland, Kevin and Linda Hirdes of Zeeland; sisters and brothers-in-law: Genevieve Gerrits of Holland, Virginia Feenstra of Hudsonville, Joyce Ulberg of Hudsonville, Lois Peasley of Dorr, Norm and Sharon Ulberg of Allendale, Dur and Marcia Blakeley of Grandville, Leon Vander Zwaag of Zeeland; 17 Grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several dear nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church 11 East 32nd Street in Holland.

Reverend Jacob Heerema will be officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Mulder Chapel – Dykstra Funeral Homes 188 West 32nd Street in Holland.
