George B. Cook of Bitely, Michigan passed away peacefully on the morning of June 24, 2025 at 88 years old. He was a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, friend, and follower of God.

George honorably served in the United States Air Force for 4 years (1954-1958). He worked many roles in his life including retail management and in the nursery industry, finishing his career as a landscaper at Shiloh. He made his home on Bitely Lake, where he shared countless memories on his deck with family and friends who were like family, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, who rarely missed watching a game.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Henrietta Cook, and his brother, Arnold Cook.

George is survived by his wife, Diane Cook; children, Ken Cook, Laurie (Greg) Lohstroh, Deb (Jay) VanderZwaag, Marnie (Greg) Sherretz, and Kevin (Nicole) Sherretz; grandchildren, Renee (Todd) Nickoles, Amanda (Zach) Bleich, George Lohstroh, Hailey Lohstroh, Maggie Lohstroh, Nicole (Zach) Harthun, Dani VanderZwaag, Jamie VanderZwaag, Chance (Jen) Sherretz, Madi Sherretz, and Sawyer Sherretz; great grandchildren, Seth, Ben, and Emily Nickoles, McKayla, Jaiden, Myleigh, Marcus and Tristan Bleich, Axton Burton, and Joel, Ellary, and Lila Harthun; sister, Jaci (Jim) Buswell; sister-in-laws, Ruth Cook, Sandy Wolters, and Brenda (Terry) Oliver; and nieces and nephews. George will be missed by all.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral. He asked that everyone continue to cherish their memories with him. A military burial will be scheduled in Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Grace Lutheran Church in Baldwin, MI.
