George A. Lokers

George Alan Lokers, age 84, of Holland, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 10, 2023. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

George was born in Zeeland, Michigan, to George and Nella Lokers on September 4, 1939. His greatest passion in life was his wife Sharon and his family. He worked at Baker Furniture for 48 years as a Master Wood Carver. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, camping, spending time in Mackinaw with his family, and his twenty plus years of retirement. George and Sharon were life-long members of Ebenezer Reformed Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

George is survived by the love of his life, his wife Sharon Lokers. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by his three daughters, Joy (Peter) Shannon, Jody (Greg) Sheldon, and Gail (Kyle) Lindberg; six grandchildren, Mackenzie Shannon, Liam (Hattie) Shannon, Zachary (Alyssa) Sheldon, Jordyn (Neil) Woodwyk, Nathaniel Sheldon, Logan (Heather) Gehrke; and six great grandchildren, Scarlette, Vivienne, Theodore, Elliott, Pyper, Skylar, with two more little ones on the way.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at Dykstra Funeral Home Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Ave. Holland, MI. Visitation will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 13, with a memorial service at 11:00 am and luncheon to follow. Pastor, Hugh Randle, of The Foundry Church will be officiating. A private burial service will take place for the immediate family.
