Life Story / Obituary

Fred Mulder, age 84 of Holland, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

Fred was born in Ireton, Iowa. He was the second of eight siblings whom he loved very much. He had many fond memories of life on the farm, and learned many useful skills along the way. Upon adulthood Fred moved to Grand Rapids, MI. There he became a landscaper. Places of work included Twin Lakes Nursery, Menasha Packaging, Kalamazoo Landscape, and Michigan Soil Services. Fred was a master landscaper, builder, and jack of all trades. Everything he touched was a work of art. He said working outside with plants and soil was how he worshipped the Lord. Fred was an amazing husband to his wife Marcia and he loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Fred was dedicated to Bible study, loved music - especially Southern Gospel and enjoyed going to concerts. Fred’s faith was the most important thing in his life, and we are so thankful he is with his precious Lord and Savior.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Monday (June 10) at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, with Pastor Tricia Bosma officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visiting is 10-10:45 am prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse.
