Fred Edwin Wise III passed away, after a battle with cancer, on April 25,2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Fred Wise Jr. And Evelyn Wise. He graduated from Holland High School.

Fred joined the National Guard in 1976. He completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

Fred worked for Holland Hitch for about 35 years as a welder and supervisor. He loved his job and felt like the company was his own.

Fred married his junior high sweetheart, Joy, in 1973 and had two beautiful children, Nicole and Jason. Later they divorced. Fred then went on to marry Wanda Darlene, and they also had two beautiful children, John and Starla, as well as adopting another son, Alexander. They subsequently divorced.

Fred had many unique and interesting hobbies, and came up with all kinds of schemes with his best friend, Tom Graham, such as hot air ballooning and ice surfing. He loved to work on anything with a motor.

Fred was known for having an interesting sense of humor. He frequently barked like a dog out in public, even getting kicked out of a restaurant once because of these shenanigans. He also made an incredibly loud foghorn noise that he would start teaching to the grandkids as soon as possible.

Fred loved to eat at Goog's Pub and Grub so much so that the owner, Brad, named a burger after him. The Fred Burger consisted of a hamburger with peanut butter and onions, his absolute favorite.

Fred was a loving father who is survived by his children Nicole Wise, Jason (Amy) Wise, John Wise, and Starla (Brandon) Burrows, as well as step daughter Bobbi Jo Kennedy and bonus daughter Corin (David) Wagner. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brittany, Jordan, Mikela, Kristoffer, Kelleigh, Adam, Maxim, Asher, Macey, Emma and bonus grandchildren Dakota and Samantha. He is survived by his great grandchildren Mia and Aleyah. He is survived by his brother Kurt (Amy) Wise, and sisters Kristi (Greg) Kiekintveld, Terrie Van Oss, and Melodie Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as many special friends.

Fred was proceeded in death by his parents Fred and Evelyn Wise, sister Luana Wise, sons Alexander James Wise and Glenn Wise and step daughter Lisa Kennedy.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses involved in taking care of Fred. A special thanks to Hospice of Holland for providing exceptional end of life care.

Please send donations to Hospice of Holland in lieu of flowers.
