Esther Ruth Harrington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on, Thursday, May 4. Esther knew whose she was; a child of the King, saved by grace. She was a woman of strength and lived out her days making sure those around her knew where her strength came from. Not only was she a blessed daughter, sister, wife, and mother, but a very proud grandmother and great grandmother (Gigi).

Esther was born on September 8, 1922, to Cornelius and Nellie Heyboer in Grand Rapids, MI. She was the youngest of five children. Esther became a Christian when she was 11 years old under the ministry of Dr. M.R. DeHaan, who was the pastor of Calvary

Undenominational Church in Grand Rapids, MI.

On September 30, 1941, Esther married Irvele Monroe Harrington at Wealthy Street Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Esther and Irvele resided in Holland, MI, where they raised their five children, and opened their home to countless missionaries, making many lifelong friends. Esther was a long-time member at Calvary Baptist Church, in Holland, MI. Although Esther faced many hardships in her life, ultimately, she found peace in knowing that there is hope beyond this world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Nellie Heyboer, her sisters, Cornelia Belle Berger and husband, Joe, Angie Marie DeKorne and husband, Chuck, and Ruth Ella Heyboer, and her brother, William Heyboer and wife, Sadie.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Tom and Linda Harrington of Gary, TX, Curt and Gail Harrington of Hilliard, FL, RuthAnn and Bob Smith of Campbell, TX, Mark and Cathy Harrington of Henderson, TX, and Joel and Barb Harrington of Holland, MI, 30 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Billie Harrington, nieces and nephews.

A life celebration service will be held, 11 am, on Tuesday, May 16th at Calvary Baptist Church, 517 W 32nd St, Holland, MI 49423. Officiating will be her son, Rev.
