On Tuesday, February 11, 2020, Ester Silva (74) of Holland, passed away peacefully.

Ester was born on November 13, 1945 in Edinburg, Texas. She was a devote Christian, one of her most prominent places of worship being The Sinai Assembly of God in Holland. She attended Davenport University for a few years earning an Associate’s Degree. Ester then found employment as a legal secretary, the Kalamazoo city clerk and later worked at Transnation Title. She retired after 20 years.

In her free time she found comfort in knitting and crocheting. She had an affinity for coffee and good friends as well. Perhaps her favorite thing was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Silva was preceded in death by her parents, Higino and Guadalupe Silva, as well as, her brother Danny Silva; sisters, Maria Acosta and Ludim Aleman.

She is survived by her children, Kim Duron of Holland, Michael Duron of Hamilton, and Joe Duron of Hudsonville; grandchildren, Joshua Espinoza of Holland, Gabrielle Castro of Holland, Naviah Duron of Hudsonville, and Madison Duron of Hamilton; great grandchildren, Kirra Espinoza, Easton Espinoza, Asa Rinks, and Joshua Jr. Espinoza; sisters, Sarah Chavez of Holland and Martha (Joe) Jimenez of Portage and her brother Ike Silva of Edinburg, Texas.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 17, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland.

A funeral ceremony will be held at the Mulder Chapel on Tuesday, Feb 18, at 11:00am. Pastor Claudina Figueroa presiding. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the ceremony at the Mulder Chapel. Private interment in Gibson Cemetery.
