Ernest Jack Dreyer of Holland passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Holland Hosptal after a short illness.

He was born in Holland on April 8, 1937 to Jacob & Martha Dreyer and lived in Holland all his life.

Ernie proudly served his country in the US Army from 1955-1957. He was a builder and specialized in finished carpentry. He donated over 20 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross, enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader. He was a member of South Olive Christian Reformed Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Martha Dreyer, sister Lucille and brother-in-law Allen VanDenBerg, brother-in-laws Bob Styf, Wayne Wortley and Earnest Pugh as well as sister-in-law Ilene Styf.

Ernie is surrvived by his loving wife Yvonne (Vonnie). On July 26 they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Also surviving are their children, Dwayne and Kim Dreyer of Holland; and Deb and Tom DeGraaf of Hudsonville; grandchildren, Kevin and Lisa DeGraaf of Portland, OR; Andrew and Megan DeGraaf of Caro MI; Stephanie Dreyer of Nashville, TN; Kylie and Adam Diemer of Holland; and Justin Dreyer of Holland. One special sweetie, great-grand daughter Peyton, and little buddy, great-grandson Parker; brothers and sister-in-laws, Chet and Mary Dreyer; Ron and Barb Dreyer; and Jim and Ruth Dreyer, all of Holland; sisters-in-law, Alma Wortley of Big Rapids; Marge and Ken Boeve of Holland; and Irene and Rog Gunnink of Three Rivers; cousins, nephews & nieces.

Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 – 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 13 at the South Olive CRC, 6425-120th Ave. in Holland.

A celebration of Ernie’s life will take place at 4:00 pm, with a time of refreshments and fellowship to follow.

Rev. Douglas Fauble will be officiating.

A private burial ceremony will take place at the Lakewood Cemetery.
