Emma Murillo

Our dearest daughter,sister,amazing loving aunt and spouse, Emma Marie Murillo-Bartell age 52 of Saugatuck passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Holland Community Hospital.

Born in Douglas, MI., the daughter of Juan and Esther Murillo, Emma graduated from Holland High School class of 1979. She continued her studies at Davenport and graduated with a degree in business and marketing in 1983.

She was employed as a realtor in the Holland area for the last 20 years currently with Five Star Real Estate. Emma attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Douglas Women’s Book Club.

Some 20 years ago she met the love of her life, Mark Bartell. Mark was a neighbor of Emma’s sister, Stella and Randy Tasker. One morning she went to Mark’s house and asked if he’d like to have a cup of coffee. Mark was impressed with Emma’s confidence and eyes that sparkled.

Emma enjoyed taking walks with Mark and their dog Molly.She climbed Mt. Baldy regularly and took great pleasure in her monthly Book Club meetings. Emma was looking forward to another season with her 24 blueberry and black raspberry bushes.

Emma had a gift of making you feel comfortable. She would light up any room she entered with her radiant smile. She had a love for life and especially her many nieces and nephews!

Sadly on January 27, 2013, she passed away at Holland Hospital. She will be forever missed!

Emma was preceded in death by brothers, Rogelio in 1951 and Robert in 1964.

She is survived by her spouse, Mark Bartell and loving pet, Molly as well as her parents, Juan Sr. and Esther Murillo of Holland, brothers and sisters; Rosie (Jerry) Corey of Rockford, MI., Juan Jr. Murillo of Holland, Mary Anne Van Dam of Wyoming, MI., Mary Helen (Craig) Crooks of Ada, Stella (Randy) Tasker of Hudsonville, Yolanda (Tim) Saladin of Rockford, Margaret (Phil) Tamminga of Holland, Melissa (Derek) Kronemeyer of Zeeland and Mary Elizabeth ( Brian) Mulder of Holland. Brothers and sisters-in –law, Andrew (Kris) Bartell of Appleton, WI., Stephanie (Thomas) Moriarty of Berwyn, PA, nieces and nephews; Bobby, Gabe, Ashley, Anthony, Michela, Ali, Amanda, Samantha, Addison, Brandon, Drake, Niquo, Patrick, Christopher, Mariah, Murissa, Amber, Alana, Robbie, Ryan, Deono, Anna, Ricky, Mia, Ella,Sam, Liam, Bridget and Morgan as well as great nieces and nephews, Soarah, Averie, Jaden, Mason, Raquel Tasker, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Christian Mass will be held Friday 11:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 195 West 13th St., Holland, with Ft. Charlie Brown officiating.

Friends may call on the family Thursday, 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave., Holland.
