Eloise White

Eloise White (Cunningham) passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022 at the American House in Holland, MI.

Eloise was born in Benton Harbor, MI on January 28, 1920 to Wilbur and Ora Cunningham. She and William (Bill) White were married in 1941.

She and Bill moved from Benton Harbor, MI to Cheltenham, PA in 1961 and in 1976 they moved to Falls Church, VA. Eloise proudly served as a volunteer at the White House during their time in the D.C. area, using her beautiful and precise calligraphy skills to address greeting cards. In 1991, they moved to Holland, MI where they were members of Central Wesleyan Church.

Eloise was a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolutionary) for 77 years. She enjoyed listening to music and had a true “green-thumb”, especially with her ever-blooming violets. She made friends easily, many of those friendships lasting over 75 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and two sisters, Patricia Gebraad and Mary Jean Brinley.

She is survived by her children William White (Winnie) of Holland, MI, John White (Nancy) Taylorsville NC, and Barbara James (Jimmy) Berryville, VA.

Grandchildren BJ White (Tracy) Holland, MI, Melissa Baldwin (Brent) Holland, MI, Alex White (Amelia) New York, NY and Greg White (Natalie) of Longmont, CO.

Great Grandchildren Allison, Megan, & Joshua White, Bryce and Makenzie Baldwin, all of Holland, MI and George White of New York.

A Memorial Service will be held at Central Wesleyan Church, Holland, MI at 11:00am on Friday, June 10, 2022.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd, Holland, MI 49423.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
