Eleanor "Ellie" Tubergan

Eleanor "Ellie" Tubergan, age 78, of Holland, went to be with her Lord Saturday November 18, 2017. She was born in Michigan City, Indiana on August 21, 1939 to Edward and Hilda Grote. Ellie graduated from Holland High School in 1957. She met, and married the love of her life, Mr. Dwayne Tubergan, shortly after graduation. Together they had five children that they raised in Holland. While raising her family Ellie attended nursing school and continued on as a charge nurse at Haven Park in Zeeland, MI. After her career in nursing, Mrs. Tubergan utilized her love of traveling and worked as a travel agent for many years. Ellie enjoyed spending weekends at their cottage at Upper Silver Lake. In her retirement she gave up some of her time volunteering. She was a long time member of Intersection Ministries.

Mrs. Tubergan was preceded in death by her loving husband Dwayne; parents, Edward and Hilda; brother, Edward Jr.; sister, Shirley; grandson, Matthew Wilemstyn.

Ellie is survived by her 5 children, Scott (Laura), Terri (David) Russell, Michael (Kristi), Judi (Harold) Wilemstyn, James (Lisa); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-8p.m., Tuesday November 21, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue, Holland. A funeral ceremony will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday November 22, at Intersection Ministries, 945 136th Avenue, Holland. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
