Edward Reilly, age 90, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away on January 2, 2024 from Alzheimer’s disease.

Edward is survived by his wife, Mary Kay (Seitz); his children, Michael (Lisa) Reilly, Mary Beth (John) Zick, David Reilly, Joseph (Heidi) Reilly; eight grandchildren, Donna, Mical, Kaitlin (Jordan), Ellen (Andrew), Curran, Nathaniel (Kaitlyn), Kathryn, Kiera; five great-grandchildren, Auron, Cara, Elliot, Lucy, Josiah; sister, Ann (Paul) Rutowski; brother-in-law, Donald George (Norma) Seitz; sister-in-law, Sandy Rumler; close family friend, Xiaoming Zhu, as well as, a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marion Reilly; brothers, James and Frank Reilly; sister, Mary Eardley; son, John Andrew Reilly and several nieces and nephews.

Edward was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Notre Dame University and Michigan State University. He spent his career in education, as a history teacher and assistant principal at Kentwood High School and then as the Principal of Lakeshore High School in Stevensville, Michigan. Edward served his country faithfully and is a veteran of the United States Army.

Edward’s family will remember him as a devoted husband who left his wife love notes for 62 years of marriage, as a father who loved his children greatly, as a grandfather who cherished his grandchildren and as a man who tried to live as his Lord expected, with love and faith. Throughout all he did in his life of service, Edward’s sense of humor carried him and those he served through all situations.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 6, at 11:00am, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 480 152nd Avenue, Holland, MI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. Interment will take place on Monday, January 8, at 11:00am, at Hickory Bluff Cemetery, 4290 Cleveland Ave, Stevensville, Michigan 49127.
