Edward Davidson Jr.

Dr. Edward Davidson, 81, of Holland, MI, went to his heavenly home on January 17, 2022.

Born to Edward and Evelyn Davidson of Quincy, Massachusetts, he graduated from Wheaton Academy and Wheaton College with a degree in education. He was a member of the Marine Reserve and taught at Zeeland and West Ottawa Public Schools. Wanting to have an impact on future teachers, he got his PhD in education at the University of Michigan and taught courses at various colleges including Southern Arkansas University.

Always curious, Edward was a lifelong learner who liked to share his knowledge with others in engaging conversations. He had an empathetic heart for those who were struggling and often reached out to cheer them up and offer words of encouragement. He loved to break the ice with people and get them to smile with a joke or a story. His favorite pastimes were listening to the radio, researching, DIY fix-it projects, and taking pictures of Lake Michigan sunsets--often remarking on the uniqueness of each one.

Edward will be greatly missed by his former spouse and faithful companion Nancy; children, Ward (Tammy) & Elizabeth; and four grandchildren.

There are no memorial services scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Doctors Without Borders, Harbor Shores Humane Society or Blue Lake Public Radio.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
