Douglas Sluis

Douglas Jay Sluis age 52 of Hamilton died March 31, 2017 at Butterworth Hospital following a lengthy illness.

In 1982, Doug graduated from Hamilton High School and joined his father at Len-Way Machine until his retirement in 2016. His sons Kyle and Kerry joined him and continue to operate the business.

He is survived by his wife Nancie, children; Kyle (Sarah) Sluis of Fennville, Kerry Sluis and Michelle Mulliken of Holland, mother, Jeannette Sluis of Holland, sister, Laurie (Roger) Hokse of Holland, mother-in-law, Connie Betz of Saugatuck, brother- in- law and sister- in- law, Susan and Craig Smeenge of Laketown, Terri and Dennis Michaels of Holland and Dennis Betz of Saugatuck as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doug’s father Leonard “ Wayne” Sluis preceded him in death in 2016 as well as a brother David Wayne Sluis in 1976.

A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Saturday April 29, 2017 at Central Wesleyan Church, 446 West 40th St. Holland with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating .Burial will be in East Saugatuck Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Saturday, 10:00 -11:00 prior to the service.

Memorial gifts in Doug’s name may be made to the Henry Ford Health System.
