Diana “Dee Dee” Lynn Vickers was born on November 14, 1951 in Michigan City, IN she entered Heaven’s gates on July 17, 2019.

A loving wife, mother, sister, NaNa, & friend who was loved by many. She enjoyed traveling the world one of her most favorite trips was her love for Africa which she visited twice with her husband Jeff, son Sam and then grandsons’ Tyler & Bailey. Her love for paddle-boarding with Gunner (their golden-lab), kayaking, and boating on the beautiful Kalamazoo river took up most of her summer days, while at night, she owned & managed her restaurant The Wild Dog Grille, from June 2007 - October 2018. She was well known by the locals, who became dear friends and also loved by the staff members who worked along side her.

Dee Dee and Jeff have lived in the Saugatuck/Douglas area since 1993 and became full-time residents in 2007. In 2015, she got her lifelong wish of becoming a snowbird when they purchased their amazing Florida home, enjoying her love for the sunshine & beach. They invited many family and friends and creating many lasting memories on the water.

She also had a great collection of books one of which was by her favorite author Ernest Hemingway, which led to another adventurous trip with her daughter Ashley to Havana, Cuba visiting his home & marina.

Dee Dee was a one of a kind sister who absolutely enjoyed scaring anyone that was in her reach, so you always had to be on your guard when she was around.

Preceded in her death were her parents Robert & Margaret Wendt; sister, Cindy Kay Davis; brother, Andrew Michael Wendt, and brother-in-law, Richard Washburn.

Dee Dee is survived by her loving husband of 20 years Jeff Vickers; daughter, Ashley (Leon) Matthys; son, Samuel Kendall; grandsons’, Tyler & Bailey Matthys; sisters, Jacqueline (David) Adams, Terri Washburn, Vicki (Robert) Stam and brother Robert Wendt.

She did not get to live as long of a life as she had wanted, but it was rich in love, adventure, and most importantly family. A life well lived and she will ALWAYS be remembered in our hearts & memories ❤️

Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality.
