David Garces, age 76, of Holland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025.surrounded by the Love of his life and his children.

David was born in Tampico, Alto Vera Cruz, Mexico on March 24, 1948 to the late Hector Garces Lopez and Maria Del Carmen Cruz. He attended grade school in Mexico and also served in the Mexican National Guard. Upon meeting the Love of his Life, Felicitas, and wanting more for the family they would eventually start; David set out to chase The American Dream and came to the United States with nothing more than his grit and an unmatched work ethic that would become a cornerstone of his legacy and lineage. David worked the Crops in a small town in West Michigan that would become his family's home called Fennville. Eventually David obtained employment at companies like Fennville Fruit Cannary, Harris Pie Company in Saugatuck, and Lifesavers in Holland, where he spent 23 years and was grandfathered into his pension despite being 2yrs short of the mandetory minimum because of achieveements like perfect attendance. David was a longtime member of Shekinah Revival Ministries (Faith Christian Center). He loved the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul. His love for Christ was displayed everyday in his love for his family and people in general. David enjoyed bird watching, riding his bike, watching soccer (Mexico and the United States teams), listening to music, dancing, and showing off his YoYo skills. David was a man that enjoyed to tinker. David was gifted with his hands, always one to take things apart to figure out how they worked so he could fix them. But of all of David's endeavors, he especially, and preferably, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the most. David was loved by everyone that knew him and he will be truly missed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Hector Garces Lopez and Maria Del Carmen Cruz; stepfather, Concepcion Rocha.
