Christopher Joseph Pfeiffer passed gently from this world, at home with family, on Sunday November 20, 2022. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1950; the fourth of six children born to George and Clara Pfeiffer.

Chris was first and always a family man who loved his children. He dedicated his life to being there for them; providing love, guidance and support. Our lives were made better by his calming presence and knowledge of how to fix almost anything. He was a skilled craftsman who updated and improved three houses, created unique furniture, and built life size playhouses for his kids and grandkids.

Chris is survived by Kathy, his loving wife of 18 years, his son Andrew(Cheryl) Pfeiffer, daughter Rebecca Wierks, six grandchildren, and by his former wife and mother of his children Carol Scholten. He is also survived by his siblings John(Tracy Collins) Pfeiffer, Carol(Tom) Hogan, Mike(Maya Brachmann) Pfeiffer, George(Christina) Pfeiffer, brother-in-law Dick Foster, and many nieces and nephews.

Chris was predeceased by his parents George and Clara Pfeiffer, his daughter Rachael, and his sister Ruth Foster.

Chris earned a degree in chemical engineering from Wayne State University. He worked for many years as a safety engineer, then Director of Chemical Safety and Occupational Health for Parke-Davis/Pfizer in Holland. Chris was the leader of the PD/Pfizer plant emergency response team and served on the Local Emergency Planning Committee.

Chris donated his body to WMU Homer Stryker School of Medicine. No services are planned.

Please consider a donation to Resilience-Advocates for ending domestic and sexual violence, or the Harbor Humane Society in Chris's memory.
