Chris Blanton, age 58 of Zeeland, passed away October 12, 2021 at Zeeland Hospital.

Chris was born in Batesville, IN to Dennis & Dollie Blanton and is the youngest of 13 children. He worked at Nelson Steel for many years, and was an avid Michigan Football fan. He loved his family dearly, but nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis & Dollie Blanton; siblings, Mac Arthur Blanton, Dee Blanton, Sam Blanton, Betty Watson, Freda Trammell, Mae Hicks, Jeanne Nichols, Darlene Kelch; and mother & father-in-law, William & Mary Miller.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth; children, Ryan (Samantha) Blanton, Lindsey (Josh) Sanchez; grandchildren, Lilyan, Jaxon, Brennan, Aubrie, Spencer, Zoie, Oaklie; siblings, Lucille (Ray) Ammeraal, Retta Cooper, Lena (Howard) Bradford, Charlene (Steve) Wooten; in-laws, David Trammell, William (Sandy) Miller, Teresa (John) Ford, Calvin (Tammy) Miller, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Chris will take place on Saturday, October 16 from 2-4pm at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel (144 W 32nd St). A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 4pm, also at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel.
