Life Story / Obituary

Cheryl Boggiano, 1/14/1949-12/8/2023, Zeeland, Mi, age 74, took her last breath and joined her husband in heaven on Friday, December 8, 2023.

Cheryl was born on January 14, 1949, in Grand Rapids Michigan to Lawrence and Virginia (Lowe) Robleske. Her early life wasn't easy after losing her mom to breast cancer when she was young but she always remained positive, hopeful, and grateful for any blessings in her life. She loved children and spent many years as a daycare provider. Cheryl enjoyed the holidays and decorated for every one of them. She loved to give gifts and spent months thinking of the "perfect" one for each of her children and grandchildren. She liked to spend weekends at Sandy Pines with her family, travel with her husband, golf with her friends, and spoil her pets.

Cheryl's life of independence changed in 2012 when a brain tumor was discovered. After a 14-hour successful brain surgery, she suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed and dependent on 24-hour care. She spent the next 11 years in and out of the hospital and assisted living facilities. Through it all she was patient, kind, loving, and always had a smile on her face.

In her later years, Cheryl enjoyed reminiscing about her pets, eating good food (root beer floats were her favorite), watching game shows on tv, chatting on the phone with family and friends (especially Joy and Jan who kept her up to date on any gossip or good stories) but more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.

Cheryl is survived by her son Brian (Tracie) Boggiano and daughter Lisa (Shawn) Higgins, her grandchildren (Blue, Kevin, Benjamin, Lucas, Jack, Macy, and Owen), and brothers Barry and Patrick Robleske. Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Vincent, her parents, her uncle Raymond, sister Lori, and brother Eric.

A funeral mass will be 11 am Tuesday (December 12) at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 N. 152nd Ave. Entombment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
