Bruce Sjaarda

Bruce Lee Sjaarda, age 57, of Holland, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January, 3, 2014 after passing away in Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids.

Bruce was born in Grand Rapids and graduated from Calvin Christian High School. He owned Vacuum Cleaner Centers in Grandville, Grand Rapids, and in Muskegon. He attended Central Wesleyan Church in Holland. He will always be loved and remembered as a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a jolly papa.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gwen (Persenaire) Sjaarda; his children, Derek Sjaarda, Marissa and Kevin Young, Anita and Jeremy Windemuller, Lucas Sjaarda; his grandchildren, Austin Sjaarda, Claira Windemuller, Chloe Windemuller, and Myla Windemuller; his parents, Dewey and Joyce Sjaarda; his mother-in-law, Jean Persenaire; his sisters, Sandra Sjaarda and Suzanne Sjaarda; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Allan and Jacie Persenaire, Dennis and Tina Persenaire, Lane and Veronica Persenaire, and Ardell and Henry Persenaire-Hogeterp; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd Street.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Central Wesleyan Church, 446 West 40th Street in Holland. The Rev. Larry Johnson will be officiating.

Burial will take place in Graafschap Cemetery.
