Brenda Wiersma

Brenda Wiersma, age 66 passed away Wednesday morning, January 13th.

She was known to those closest to her as a social butterfly who loved those around her wholeheartedly. If she loved you, you’d be hard pressed to find a more adamant advocate, and if you weren’t in her good graces, you’d be sure to know. She was quick to forgive and wasn’t capable of holding a grudge. She told the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not and had a knack for saying what you needed to hear. You could rely on Brenda to give it to you straight. Brenda was well renowned at local thrift shops and had a nose for a great deal. Brenda enjoyed spending her holidays camping with her husband Bruce, whom she married 38 years ago on March 19. Their marriage served as an example to their three daughters for what a partnership and loving relationship should look like. Bruce was the love of her life and her best friend that she loved fiercely. Her daughters, Jamie, Sarah, and Lindsey blessed her with 6 grandchildren that she loved more than the air she breathed, but maybe not more than a new vacuum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Marge Hardy, brother Von Hardy, father-in-law Glenn Wiersma, and brother-in-law Bill Withorn.

Visitation will be at Beechwood Church from 1 - 4:00 p.m. this Saturday, January 16th. A celebration of her life will be held later this summer.
