Brenda Joyce McCarthy, 76, of Bonita Springs, FL passed away June 5, 2023 with her family by her side. Brenda was born in Detroit, MI to the late Richard & Helen Bork. She graduated at top of her class from Roseville High School in 1964. Brenda was married to her love, John, for 54 years and he proceeded her in death on June 13, 2022. John & Brenda’s love story began at a young age. Together, they raised four wonderful children and worked tirelessly to provide for their family.
Brenda worked at General Motors as an Executive Assistant for “Mahogany Row” at the GM Tech Center in Warren, MI for many years. This is where she met her husband John. Brenda loved working, but left her career a few years after having children to flourish her passion for her family.
Brenda loved living in Florida with palm trees, sunshine and the beautiful environment all around. Their Florida home was a place she found the most peace. She had a love for landscaping, decorating, and was an amazing entertainer for events. She loved to paint artistic designed artwork, swim and cook. She also loved fresh flowers, angels, the outdoors and most importantly, her friends and family.
Brenda loved the Lord and she was a faithful praying woman that always thought of others in her prayers.
Brenda is survived by her children Michelle (Michael) Boyd, Derrick (Kelly) McCarthy, Kevin McCarthy, Melissa (Nathan) Brown. She was a proud Grandma to her thirteen grandchildren Jessica, Megan, McKenzie, Ashley, Maclain, Kate, Logan, Alaina, John, Hope, Alexander, Lucas and Caleb. She was a beloved Great Grandma to her three great grandchildren, Novalynn, Leilynn and Anchetto. Also adored by her grandpups Annie, Toby, Olivia and Rosie.
Brenda is cherished and loved by her surviving sibling, Sharon Snyder. Sister to the late Jerry Bork. Preceded and survived by many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Luncheon:
June 12, 2023 2pm-5pm at Addison Oaks, 1480 W Romeo Rd Leonard, Michigan.
Private interment will take place in Gibson Cemetery.
