Betty Baker

Betty Jane Baker, age 89, of Holland, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born to George and Ruth (Lumb) Merwin of Chicago, Il on March 9, 1927. She was preceded in death by her sons, Ralph Jr., Mike and Scott and a daughter Donna. Her parents, parents-in-law, Ruth Baker and George & Mary Baker. Brothers-in-law, Harry and Junior Baker. Betty is survived by her husband of 64 1/2 years, Ralph; daughters, Ruth and Bill Kaye of Saugatuck, Carole and Wesley Mitts of Fennville, Jami Baker and Dean Berens of Holland, Maree Baker of Dorr and Amy and Bill Embil of Hamilton; son, James Baker of Holland; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Sister, Phyllis Rastall of Douglas and several nieces and nephews. A family service was held at Douglas Community Church, Sunday, December 11th. There will be a Celebration of Life in her honor on Saturday, January 7th at 4pm at The Red Barn Event Center in Saugatuck. Memorials may be made to one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
