Benito Benavides Jr.

Benito Benavides Jr., age 47, of Holland passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at his home.

After graduating from Holland High School Ben married his high school sweetheart and they resided in Germany where he started his family. Ben returned to Holland in 1988. He was very dedicated to his work and education was very important to him. He earned two associates degrees at Davenport University where he was currently enrolled to further his education. Ben enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his grandkids. He was very kind-hearted and loving to his friends and anyone who came in contact with him.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amya Pringle in 2005 and a niece Michelle Hughes-Cano in 2006.

He is survived by his children: Cassondra and Drew Schwarzer of Beaufort, SC., Felitia and Brandon Roach of Beaufort, S.C., Sebastian Benavides of Holland; grandchildren: Cameron Newman, Mason Schwarzer, Aniston Roach;

parents: Benito Sr. and Margarita Benavides of Holland; sisters: Rosa and Rogelio Hughes of Holland, Eliza Benavides of Holland, Virginia and Claude Hughes of Holland; 3 nephews; 6 nieces; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral mass will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 171 West 13th Street in Holland.

Father Charlie Brown will be officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 with wake prayers at 7:00 PM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
