Ben Knoll (Benny), 89 died peacefully Monday, December 19, 2022 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan. He was born in Morrison, Illinois to Anna and Ben Knoll. They moved to Holland when he was 3 and was raised on a farm on the south side of Holland.

Ben went to Holland High school and served in the US Army during the Korean War. After the war he returned and enjoyed 63 years of marriage with his high school sweetheart Joyce (Kraai) Knoll.

Joyce preceded him in death in 2020, and their son Kevin Knoll in 2004.

He survived by his children Sheila and Eric Whittaker, Mike and Lisa Knoll, Karen and David Moored and Heather Knoll (Marcel Rivera); 4 grandchildren, Kyle Moored, Shelby Moored, Nick Knoll and Justin Knoll; one brother David (Patty) Knoll and one sister Barb (Bob) Nevenzel and many nieces and nephews. The Knoll family would like to thank the staff of Atrio services, Hospice of Holland, and Resthaven care facility for the support and love they gave us.

Ben's sweet, loyal, honest, and determined personality was evident as he cared for his wife for many years. He's a legend for many reasons but that one is hard to beat!

Ben enjoyed playing sports, hunting, farming and later gambling a little. Lucky at slots! He was a founding member of the Hoxeyville Hunters Big Tent Group. Ben also had his own breakfast club, he hit all the breakfast joints every week. Thank you to the staff at the old Parkway, the Wooden Shoe, Jackie's Place and of course Russ' Restaurant Southside.

A private viewing was held Thursday, December 22, at Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel and interment was in Pilgrim Home Cemetery with the South Haven American Legion Post 49 honor guard (thank you!) and Rev. Mark Waterstone presiding over the committal service.

Those who wish to remember Ben in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Hospice of Holland, Resthaven Care Center or your charity of choice.
