Barbara Veldhuis

Barbara J. Veldhuis, age 86, of Holland passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at her home.

Barb was a member of First Reformed Church where she helped with Sunday school classes and food preparation for Wednesday night suppers. She was employed at General Electric and retired from Haworth. Barb enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and staying in Florida during the winter months. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Florence Kammeraad, her first husband Richard Frelander, and brothers James Kammeraad and Paul Kammeraad.

She is survived by her husband Norman and children: Gail Kaniff of Jupiter, FL, Patricia and Glenn Hulst of Holland and Marilyn Dykstra of Holland; step-children: Dennis and Cheryl Veldhuis of Holland and Linda and Rick Prins of Holland; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother and sister: Donald and Barbara Kammeraad of Holland and Shirley and Bill Knowles of Holland; sister-in-law: Cheryl Kammeraad of Holland; many nieces, nephews, cousins.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Monday, December 31, 2018 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue in Holland. Rev. Dr. Daniel Gillett and Rev. John Zwyghuizen will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Northwood Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland or the Alzheimer’s Association.
