Barbara Jean Jekel, 58, beloved wife and mother, met the Lord peacefully on December 21, 2021, while held in the arms of her loved ones.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Jekel, loving children David (Mandie) Argetsinger, Joshua (Kayla) Jekel, Katherine Jekel, and Sarah Jekel; her grandchildren Ethan, Gabrielle, Hannah, Kaylah, Bri, and Sarah; her father Fred Hoffman, sister Katherine (Glenn) Coryell, nieces and nephews Jessica Root, Casey Conner, and Nikki Conner, and Samantha Wilson Potter; cousin Michael Park and his daughter Carly Park; aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Barbara loved to worship and serve with her friends at Central Wesleyan Church, and she most recently returned to work at Pioneer Molded Products / Rooted Fabrication in Grand Rapids as the Production Manager. She cherished the very strong relationships and friendships built with the people around her. She was always at her happiest when she had the opportunity to show her love in so many ways for her family and friends. She delighted in her treasured little dog Maxwell for many years. She loved to travel, beautify her surroundings, and celebrate life. “…and she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Funeral services are 11 am Tuesday, (December 28), in The Chapel at Central Wesleyan Church, 446 West 40th Street, with Rev. Lynn Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 pm Monday, (December 27), at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street.
