Life Story / Obituary
Barbara “Bobby” Boer, age 95 of Holland, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, peacefully passed away October 24, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Bobby was born to Marvin and Nelle Lindeman on April 4, 1930. A devoted educator, she taught both elementary and high school students with passion and care. A lifelong member of Hope Church, Bobby led by example in many aspects of her life, paving new paths and inspiring those around her.
An accomplished equestrian, she even took her horse with her to college—a testament to her dedication and spirit. Education was one of her greatest prides; she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.
Bobby also shared her love of the water through her involvement with the Macatawa Yacht Club, where she enjoyed racing and spreading her enthusiasm for sailing and the outdoors. Strong, independent, and full of life, Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Bobby was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Egbert "Ed" Boer.
She is survived by her daughters, Barb (Darda) Huls, Kathy Boer - Tubbergen; grandchildren, Jaclyn (Dan) Angeli, Chris (Kim) Huls, Emma (Zach) Jandereski, Claire Tubbergen, Lydia Tubbergen; sister-in-law, Karen Boer, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service honoring the life of Bobby will be held on Friday, November 7, at 4:00 p.m. at Hope Church, with Rev. Gretchen Schoon Tanis officiating.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a one-hour visitation prior to the service at the church.
A private burial will take place at Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hope Church.
