Arlene Wassink, age 96 of Zeeland/Holland, passed away month/day/year. She was born, raised and a lifelong resident of Holland, up to three years ago when she moved to Royal Park Place in Zeeland.

She was a long-time member of Rose Park Reformed Church which provided many years of caring, enrichment and loving support. During her life, Arlene had several employment opportunities, the last of which was with Thrifty Acres which is now Meijer’s. One of her favorite pastimes was to mow and trim the grass along with other outdoor landscaping activities. She was always ready to play any kind of card or board games and was quite proficient at Rummy Cube and Mexican Train right up to the end of her life.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Nick Wassink in 1992 and their daughter Kathie (Sampson) in 1993, as well as many dear friends.

Arlene is survived by three siblings, Glenn Kraai, Dewitt MI; Thelma Nederhood, Kalamazoo, MI; and Sharon Overway, Zeeland, MI, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 11 am Monday (February 14) at Rose Park Reformed Church, 14241 Rose Park Drive. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday (February 13) at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue.
