Arlene Holtgeerts

Arlene Holtgeerts, age 87 of Holland, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Arlene was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Albert and Margaret (Hoekstra) Rozema. She worked for the Holland Public School Food Service until her retirement.

Arlene loved watching and supporting her favorite teams. The Hope College men’s and women’s basketball teams, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Holland High School Athletics. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Reformed Church.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Holtgeerts in 1997; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Faye Rozema and Jack and Barb Rozema; sister, Marge Huffman; brother-in-law, Walter DeVries.

She is survived by her children, Cindy and Craig Kuipers and Randy Holtgeerts; grandchildren, Heather and Courtney Polnicky and Amber and Jojo Arizpe; great-grandchildren, McKaila, McKenna, and Logan Polnicky; step great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lylah, and one on the way; sister-in-law, Lois DeVries; brother-in-law, George Huffman; several nephews, nieces, and friends.

Arlene's wishes were to have no services or visitations.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Downtown Chapel.
