Anne Nelson

Dr. Anne Marie Nelson (Prange) passed away on Saturday, April 23rd.

She was a one-of-a-kind woman who is loved and will always be cherished. “Oma” as she liked to be called by her grandson and partner in crime, Timmy, will be forever missed. She spoiled him relentlessly along with her furry princesses, Fiona and Scout.

Anne was an amazing wife to Dick, mother to Jessica (Nate) and Kelly, daughter to Werner and Mary, and sissy to Barb (Frank), Mike (Leslie), Walter (Kathy), Rob, friend and ally to many other loved ones. She was known as the ‘cool’ aunt to her nieces and nephews, loyal friend, and guiding light to countless others. Anyone who met her knew she was a true force with an iron will.

She was passionate about her career and education, obtaining her Master's in Nursing in 1983, her MBA in 1995 and her PhD in 2003 with the goal of better supporting fellow nurses, healthcare workers, and patients. During 17 years of dialysis, she never let the pressure and stress overtake her and became a true diamond. We find comfort knowing Dick and Anne are together again dancing to ‘Annie’s Song’ like they did on their wedding day.

We ask that you think of Anne when you wear her jewelry or display her art.

A Memorial visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday (May 13) at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Avenue.
