Alyda Boes, beloved mother, grandma and great-grandma, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the age of 94. Alyda was born June 23, 1928 to Hendrick & Johanna Weller. On April 8,1949 she married Merle Boes. They raised two daughters, Susan and Pat, and one son, Mike.

Alyda was a former member of Bethel Reformed Church and current member of Trinity Reformed Church where she was active in Women's and Senior Ministries. Alyda and Merle enjoyed traveling across the United States and overseas. They had a shared passion for missions in Hungary and the Ukraine, having visited those countries five times. Alyda loved to watch wildlife, but especially had a passion for birds and in particular cardinals. Her love of travel and wild life has been passed down to her family. She was known for her caring, loving, and prayerful spirit.

Alyda was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Merle; brother, Henry Weller; sister, Elizabeth Van Liere; brothers-in-law, John DeGraaf and Chet Van Liere. She is survived by her children, Susan (Bill) Becksvoort, Pat (Larry) Boonstra, Mike (Sheryl) Boes; grandchildren, Jami (Eric) Alferink, Chad Becksvoort, Tyler Boonstra & Leslie Becerra, Bryce Boonstra, Allison (Ben) Attema, Lindsay (Grant) Geurink, and Mallory (Aaron) Leetsma; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Tamaya, Jude, Joy, Rosemary, Nora, and Anah; sister-in-laws, Elaine Weller and Phyllis De Graaf; and dear friend, Bev Lubbers.

A private family memorial service is being planned with burial at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorial gifts in Alyda's honor may be given to Trinity Reformed Church of Holland's Mission Fund or Hospice of Holland. Alyda's family would like to thank the staff of Appledorn Assisted Living Care Facility North, and Hospice of Holland for their excellent care of Alyda while she resided there.
