Winifred Douglas

Winifred (Spillers) Douglas, 95, passed away August 31, 2022 in Holland, MI. Winnie was born September 16, 1926 in Browning, IL to Fred L. and Bula (Bates) Spillers. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1944 and worked at Caterpillar in Peoria in their new computer division during the war. She married Charles M. Douglas of Bader, November 18, 1945 in Rushville following his discharge from the Army from the South Pacific after WWII. He died in 2008. Their union brought five children into the world: Charles Kent (of Guam), Sara Ramos (Fairbanks, AK), Philip Alan (rural Virginia, IL), Stephen Forrest (deceased 1963) and John Mark (Holland, MI) as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A grave-side service will be held at the Browning, IL cemetery Oct 13th 11 a.m. Rev. Mike Smith officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the auspices of the Northwood Chapel.
